Hans Schröder (surgeon)

Hans Schröder (* 1929 ; † March 12, 1997 ) was a German surgeon and university professor.

Life

Schröder studied medicine at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena . After the state examination and the completion of the general medical year, he went through surgical training with Heinrich Kuntzen in Jena from 1956 . With a doctoral thesis with Ernst Krönke, he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. He became a specialist in surgery (1960) and urology (1964). Since 1966 senior physician, he was appointed university lecturer for surgery in 1967. In 1972 he became chief physician at the district hospital of the Gera district . The University of Jena appointed him honorary professor in 1974 . After the retirement of Theo Becker , he was the 1981 Chair nominated for surgery at the University of Jena. His clinical and scientific interests were primarily in visceral surgery . From 1984 to 1986 he was President of the Thuringian Society for Surgery. As a senior medical officer , he died at the age of 68.
