Hans Schumm (politician)

Hans Schumm (born December 26, 1927 , † June 13, 2007 in Bad Kreuznach ) was a German local politician.

Schumm came from a long-established Kreuznach family. He began his training in 1942 at the employment office. After serving in the war and as a prisoner of war, he worked for the Kreuznach city administration. He was mayor until 1967, then he held the office of district administrator until 1990.

Schumm earned his merit by promoting housing construction and by setting up the tire manufacturer Michelin . Other focal points of his life were reconciliation work with Israel , Diakonie , Lebenshilfe and the German Red Cross .
