Bettina Dickes (born April 10, 1971 in Cloppenburg ) is a Rhineland-Palatinate politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament between 2006 and 2016 . On April 2, 2017, she was elected district administrator for the Bad Kreuznach district.

education and profession

Since Bettina Dickes' father was a soldier in the German Armed Forces, her childhood was marked by moving. In 1979 the family moved to Daubach , in 1982 to Waldböckelheim . In 1990 she passed the Abitur and began studying mathematics, history and sports to become a teacher in Koblenz and Landau. Today Bettina Dickes lives in Bad Sobernheim . From 1994 to 2006 she was a housewife and raised her four children.

Bettina Dickes joined the CDU in 1993 and was a member of the Waldböckelheim City Council from 1999 and 1st alderman from 2004. She has been a member of the CDU Bad Kreuznach district executive since 2003, initially as deputy chairwoman and since 2013 as chairwoman. In the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2006 , she was elected to the state parliament via the CDU state list. Since January 2009 she has been the parliamentary group's spokesperson for education policy. In the 2011 elections she was re-elected to the state parliament; In 2016, however, she was defeated by the constituency candidate of the SPD and was no longer able to win a mandate due to her lower position on the list. In September 2016 she was nominated as a candidate for district administration by the CDU in the Bad Kreuznach district. Since none of the four candidates received an absolute majority in the election on March 19, 2017, a run-off election between Bettina Dickes and Hans-Dirk Nies from the SPD took place on April 2, 2017 , which she won.
