Hans Sittner
Hans Sittner (born August 9, 1903 in Linz , † May 9, 1990 in Vienna ) was an Austrian lawyer , music teacher , author and pianist .
biography
Sittner studied from 1914 to 1921 at the Linz Music Association School . From 1921 to 1925 he studied law at the University of Vienna , and from 1925 to 1927 he studied at the Vienna Music Academy . In 1946 he was appointed director of the same academy, and was also its president from 1949 to 1971.
Sittner was involved in the Mozart community in Vienna , where he founded the Vienna Flute Clock Prize. From 1968 to 1977 he was President of the Austrian-Romanian Society. He was also the first president of the Vienna Chopin Society .
