Hans Somborn

Hans Leopold Somborn , also Hans L. Somborn (born May 4, 1904 in Cologne , † January 30, 1993 in Lisbon ) was a German lawyer, actor , film production manager , film producer and director .

Life

He trained as a dramaturge at a theater seminar and studied law. In 1928 he received his doctorate at the Philipps University of Marburg with the thesis on the nature, scope and realization of the stage artist's right to employment: de lege lata and de lege ferenda . After training as an actor, he performed at the Frankfurt Art Theater for the Rhine and Main , at the City Theater of Mönchengladbach , Schauspielhaus Cologne, Schlossparktheater Berlin and at the New Schauspielhaus in Königsberg .

In 1935, Dr. Somborn's collaboration with Willi Forst , who initially used him as a dramaturgical advisor on his crime film Mazurka . In 1936 he became a partner in Willi Forst-Film and at the same time its production manager. In this role, Somborn played a major role in the creation of the Willi Forst films in the following years.

Somborn was married to actress Liane Haid until 1937 , and from 1941 to actress Dora Komar . With her and their three sons he emigrated to Rio de Janeiro in 1946 . He worked here as a lawyer and advisor to German companies. Somborn returned to the cinema for the last time under the pseudonym "Leopold Somporn" to direct the Brazilian film Garota mineira . In 1970 the Somborn / Komar couple returned home to Austria, later both of them settled temporarily in Portugal , where their youngest son lives.
