Hans Spigath

Hans Spigath (born January 17, 1925 in Meiningen ; † December 22, 1989 ) was a German politician ( SED ) and economic functionary. He was deputy chairman of the State Planning Commission (SPK) of the GDR .

Life

At the age of 18, Spigath became a member of the NSDAP on April 20, 1943 ( membership number 9.363.104, member of the Meiningen NSDAP local group). He did in World War II service in the Air Force .

After 1945 he worked as a wood cutter. Spigath joined the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). He was a tax auditor, employee of the social insurance fund and studied at the Berlin School of Economics . He completed his studies with a degree in economics.

In 1956 Spigath became an employee of the Gera District Council . From 1962 to 1965 he acted as chairman of the district planning commission and as deputy chairman of the council of the district of Gera. He was also a member of the SED district leadership in Gera. From 1965 he was the main department head for annual planning, planning and financing as well as principle and perspective issues at the SPK, and from 1966 then deputy chairman of the SPK. In 1969 Spigath became head of the SPK's annual planning department.
