Tatiana Turanskyj

Tatjana Turanskyj (born July 27, 1966 in Hanover ; † September 18, 2021 ) was a German feminist film director, film producer, screenwriter, actress and performer .

Life

Tatjana Turanskyj studied sociology, theater and literature between 1988 and 1995, among others. in Frankfurt am Main. Before and during her studies she was an actor in productions by Einar Schleef . She worked in the advertising industry from 1995 to 2002 and was artistically active in the field of performance and video and, together with Saskia Draxler, ran the "OK GIRL $ Gallery" in Berlin.

In 2001 Turanskyj founded the performance film collective "Hangover Ltd." together with other artists, which until 2007 produced the films Hangover, Petra, Remake and Korleput . The members of the group starred as actresses in their films. The “Hangover Ltd.” films were co-produced by the Volksbühne Berlin .

Together with Jan Ahlrichs, Tatjana Turanskyj founded the film production company "turanskyj & ahlrichs GbR" in 2008, which produced the films that have now been made, Eine flexible Frau and Top Girl . These two films are part of the women and work trilogy . She shot her film Athens - Disorientation is not a crime (2015) together with the documentary filmmaker Marita Neher.

Tatjana Turanskyj was a co-founder of the ProQuote Regie initiative , an association of women directors who, among others, for a quota for the award of directorial contracts in the television and film sector in order to achieve more gender equality in the film industry.
