Bastian Trost
Bastian Trost (born March 29, 1974 in Düsseldorf ) is a German performer and actor who became known for his role as Esau Matt in the film Der Laden . He is part of the performance collective Gob Squad . Trost lives in Berlin .

Trost attended the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum and at the age of sixteen was able to gain first experience in roles in Medea and King Lear at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . He later appeared in plays such as Romeo and Juliet (1991), The Good Thief (1998) and The Beach (2001).
In 2003 he joined the artist group Gob Squad and has since played regularly at the Hebbel am Ufer Theater and the Volksbühne in Berlin (in Gob Squad's Kitchen (You've Never Had it So Good) and Western Society, among others ) and tours with many gob squads Projects worldwide.

- 1999: Trost was part of the cast team from Der Laden , for which Martin Benrath (together with director Jo Baier ) received the Adolf Grimme Prize with gold
- 2009: At the Impulse theater festival in Düsseldorf, he and the group Gob Squad won the Goethe Institute prize for the play Saving the World .
- 2012: With the performance Gob Squad's Kitchen (You've Never Had It So Good) in New York City he was awarded the Drama Desk Award as “best unique theatrical experience”.
- 2012: he was invited to the 49th Berlin Theatertreffen as part of Gob Squad with the play Before Your Very Eyes .
- 2020: he won the Tabori Prize with Gob Squad
