Felix Fuchssteiner (born August 22, 1975 in Paderborn ) is a German director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Fuchssteiner grew up in Germany and the USA. From 1992 to 1996 he was a freelance journalist for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . He had regular publications in: Die Zeit , Fotomagazin , Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, among others .

From 1995 he completed his directing studies at the University of Television and Film in Munich , which he completed in 2003 with the short film The Curve . The co-production with Bayerischer Rundfunk and Arte won numerous awards. In 1997 he founded the company mem-film GmbH .

In 2004 he worked as a director for Verbotene Liebe .

In 2008 he shot the movie Draußen am See , which premiered at the Munich Film Festival in 2009 and won the German Film Award for best production and best actress.

In 2013, the highly acclaimed fantasy film Rubinrot was released in cinemas. The sequels sapphire blue (August 2014) and emerald green (2016) followed.
