action

Fourteen-year-old Jessika lives in a family of four. The withdrawn girl enjoys the security of the monotony, which is only interrupted by the family trips to an arbor by a lake. When the father becomes unemployed, the idyll breaks apart. The mother Tine becomes the family's provider and Jessika has to watch her father gradually become neglected. Without telling her family about it, Tine becomes pregnant. When the child is born, she kills it and Ernst then buries it on the property of the arbor and sets it in concrete. Jessika and her sister move out of their parents' home and look for an apartment together. Finally, Jessika reports the child's grave to the police.

Reviews

“Because despite the recognizable effort to create an artistic signature, the film does not always get beyond a well-made television format. For this, the characters are simply too woodcut-like, especially those of the father, who has to act almost pitifully one-dimensional. "

- cinema time

"From this he [Felix Fuchssteiner] sometimes distills the caricature of a dysfunctional family and the consistently good actors are busy overcoming the one-dimensional characteristics with which the script is labeled - which Elisa Schlott does best with her sensitive game. Nevertheless, the overloaded portrait of a downright mindless middle class who manages to navigate through life without being thoughtful or honest once has strong points. "
