Hans Stürm (cameraman)
Hans Stürm (* 1942 in Bischofszell ; † June 30, 2002 in Zurich ) was a Swiss cameraman and film producer who was one of the founders of the Swiss Young Cinema .
Life
Stürm initially studied philosophy in Freiburg and Paris , but then graduated from the IDHEC film school in Paris, from which he graduated in 1967 with a cameraman diploma. Back in Switzerland in 1975 he was one of the founders of the Zurich film collective .
In the following three decades, Stürm mainly directed the camera for documentaries and worked with numerous well-known filmmakers in his country, such as Alexander J. Seiler , Richard Dindo , Villi Hermann and Niklaus Meienberg .
In 1982, together with Villi Hermann and Niklaus Meienberg, he received an Adolf Grimme Prize with bronze for It is cold in Brandenburg (to kill Hitler) .
Stürm lived with the Swiss filmmaker Beatrice Michel . He died of a heart attack during the joint Klingenhof film project ; Michel made his death a theme in the film.
Stürm's estate can be found in the documentation center of the Cinémathèque suisse in Zurich.
