Hans Würdinger

Hans Würdinger (born May 18, 1903 in Munich ; † July 17, 1989 there ) was a German legal scholar .

Life

After 1922, Würdinger studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , passed the first state law examination in 1926 and received his doctorate in 1927/28 under Wilhelm Kisch . In 1932 he completed his habilitation there with Konrad Beyerle and Rudolf Müller-Erzbach . In 1933 he received the license to teach in Munich and the professorship for civil law and commercial law. In the winter semester of 1933/34 he moved to the Georg-August University in Göttingen as the successor to Paul Oertmann and in 1935 to Wroclaw, succeeding Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy . Allegedly through Hermann Göring's mediation , he went to the University of Vienna for the winter semester of 1938 and to Hamburg in 1944 . There he held a professorship for commercial, corporate and maritime law. In 1969 he retired and then moved to Munich.

Würdinger was not a member of the NSDAP , but the SS . He was a member of the Academy for German Law and had sympathy for National Socialism . In the summer of 1935 he gave a lecture at the Kitzeberg camp of the “ Kiel School ”, and in 1936 he gave a lecture at the conference on Jews in law organized by Carl Schmitt .

Würdinger's main research interests were civil law , commercial law and business law , comparative law and legal history .
