Hans Waitz

Hans Waitz , eigtl. Johannes Waitz , (* July 2, 1864 in Darmstadt ; † May 2, 1942 ibid) was a German Protestant theologian and church historian .

Life

Waitz was born the son of a publisher and bookseller and studied theology in Giessen and Leipzig . He belonged to the Giessener , Leipziger and Darmstadt Wingolf .

After graduating, he worked for some time as a religion teacher at the Realgymnasium in Darmstadt. He worked as a Protestant pastor in Darmstadt and was a regional church councilor in the people's state of Hesse . He became a member of the regional synod and was a regional church councilor.

The theological faculty of the University of Giessen awarded him a doctorate in theology for his services.
