Hans Weigmann (born September 22, 1897 in Kiel , † 1944 in Bobruisk ( Belarus )) was a German economist .

Life

Weigmann took part in the First World War from 1914 to 1918 and was then taken prisoner by the French . In 1918 he graduated from secondary school in Lille (France) and studied economics at the Universities of Halle and Kiel from 1920 to 1923 . In 1923 he was promoted to Dr. sc. pol. PhD . The title of the work was "The idea of ​​autarky in German mercantilism". From 1923 to 1927 he was an assistant and completed his habilitation in 1925 at the University of Rostock with a study entitled “Critical Contribution to the Theory of International Trade” First class assistant, finally from 1929 professor at the University of Rostock, from where he moved to the University of Berlin in 1937 as professor of economics . From 1939 to 1944 he took part in World War II , most recently as a major. In 1944 he was reported missing and probably died in Bobruisk.
