Hans Wenk
Hans Wenk ( February 18, 1890 - January 3, 1986 ) was a German plant breeder.
Life
From 1903 to 1905, Hans Wenk attended the Triesdorf district agricultural school. He began his professional career in 1906 at the Weihenstephan State Plant Breeding Institute . He worked his way up to the head of the institution's potato department. Around two dozen well-known potato varieties emerged from his breeding work, which have had a significant impact on the yield and quality of German potato cultivation. These include the well-known varieties Eva, Panther and Maritta.
