Ernst Hatz

Ernst Hatz (born December 28, 1878 in Ruhstorf an der Rott ; † December 1, 1965 ) was a German designer and entrepreneur.

Life

Hatz was a co-owner of the Hatz engine factory in Ruhstorf, which he built up from the smallest beginnings into an important engine manufacturer. In the 1930s he designed a two-stroke diesel engine that was used worldwide.

For several years he was chairman of the specialist group for power machines in the Association of German Mechanical Engineering Institutions .
