Hans Widmer (politician, 1941)
Hans "Juan" Widmer (born September 9, 1941 in Hochdorf ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ) and philosopher .
biography
Hans Widmer grew up in Ligschwil near Hochdorf. After attending primary school in Hochdorf and middle school in Immensee , his studies took him to Schöneck near Beckenried , Burgos , Valencia and Innsbruck .
He obtained a doctorate in philosophy with a dissertation on "On Hope" . From 1967 to 2006 he was a high school teacher of philosophy, religion and Spanish. From 1996 to 2010 Widmer was a member of the Swiss National Council for the Canton of Lucerne . He was a member of parliamentary commissions in the areas of foreign policy, education and security. From 2001 to 2003 he was President of the Commission for Science, Education and Culture (WBK).
Widmer lives in Lucerne and has a second marriage. He has a son and a daughter from his first marriage.
