Hans im Glück from Herne 2 is a German television series that was broadcast by ZDF from January 2, 1983 .

action

The series focuses on 16-year-old Hans Kolekta, who tries to escape unemployment, as well as the life of his family from the workers' milleau and that of his close friends, who are based in a typical Ruhr area street in Herne / Wanne-Eickel.

background

Renke Korn wrote the scripts , which were reworked by the actor Willi Thomczyk and the director of the series Roland Gall and given Ruhrpott local color.

The series was realized almost exclusively with amateur actors at original locations in the Ruhr area. Exceptions are the Ruhrpott icon Tana Schanzara and the still largely unknown Dieter Pfaff . The layman Peter Danneberg achieved brief fame through his lead role after the broadcast. It was worth a multi-page report for the youth magazine Bravo .

Thyssen steelworks in Duisburg

In addition to Wanne-Eickel , Dortmund's city center and Dortmund main station , Bochum main station , Castrop-Rauxel , the ThyssenKrupp steelworks in Duisburg and Wrist in Schleswig-Holstein can be seen as filming locations in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The first working title in the series was "Die nicht-Aufsteiger". The final title of the series uses the postal designation "Herne 2" for Wanne-Eickel .

The post-production of the series was completed at the company of Adolf Winkelmann , who is also the director of films with Ruhrpott subjects such as Lots of Coal .

The series was never repeated by ZDF and ended up in the poison cabinet . It only came to light again after almost 30 years. DVD product manager Holger Bals, himself a big fan of the series, acquired the rights from ZDF and produced an elaborate box containing three DVDs and a booklet. This was published by the company ems new Media, for which Bals worked. A multi-hour documentary entitled "30 Years After" was produced especially for this publication. Many of the actors were visited and interviewed by Holger Bals. Nothing was glossed over and nothing was cut, unfiltered you get an insight into today's life of the actors, which can sometimes make you sad. Ruhrpott icon Willi Thomczyk also has a say in a sweeping attack against today's media landscape.
