Renke Korn (born December 14, 1938 in Unna ) is a German writer , director and painter .

Life

Renke Korn grew up in Soest and Münster , where he graduated from the Wilhelm-Hittorf-Gymnasium in 1958 . He then studied German , history and philosophy at the universities of Munich , Göttingen and Münster . In 1963 he passed the state examination for teaching at secondary schools in Münster. However, he did not continue this career path.

As a schoolboy and student, he had written poems without offering them to publishers for publication. Now he wanted to dedicate himself more intensively to this literary tendency, encouraged by his mother, who came from a family of newspaper publishers. Korn moved to Berlin, wrote and worked at the same time as a fitter , salesman , forklift driver , lathe operator and tutor . In 1966 the WDR broadcast its first radio play ( Defense of a Gravedigger ) and in 1967 the Deutsches Theater Göttingen put on its first play ( The Survivors ). In the following years he mainly published plays and radio plays, and from 1973 also TV plays and films.

At the same time, Korn was involved in cultural-political issues. In 1969 he co-founded the publishing house of the authors , from 1973 to 1979 member of the board of the Association of German Writers (VS) in Berlin and at the same time the representative of the overall VS for theater issues, 1986 to 1990 co-founder and board member of the Association of German Scriptwriters and 1993 to 1995 head of the Berlin Radio play days.

In 2004, Renke Korn published a larger prose work for the first time, the short story volume Der Mann der Liebe die Vögel .

Since around 2002, painting has focused on the creation of images developed from digital photos on the computer.
