Hans von Ahlefeldt (* around 1450 ; † February 17, 1500 in the Battle of Hemmingstedt ) was a knight, lord of Haseldorf , Haselau , Seegaard near Kliplev and Seestermühe .

Life

Hans von Ahlefeldt was first mentioned in 1475. In 1482 he was in the entourage of King Johann in Hamburg to demand the performance of the hereditary homage . In 1490 he sealed the letter of division between King Johann and Duke Friedrich . In 1494 he bought the former castle of the Knights of Haseldorf with Bishorst and a little later the Haseldorfer Marsch from King Johann for 30,000 marks and redeemed all the goods pledged by his older brother Benedikt. In 1500 he fell as one of the highest military leaders in the battle of Hemmingstedt. In this battle, eleven knights from the house of the Ahlefeldts fell with him, including Benedikt von Ahlefeldt (1440–1500). His wife was Arelheit von Bölow from the Marnitz family, and he had five children with her. His great-grandson Hans was one of the commanders of the Danish-Holstein army, which in the last feud in 1559 was finally able to subdue Dithmarschen.
