Johann III. von Haim , also Hans III. von Haim , (born February 12, 1544 in Reichenstein; † April 19, 1616 in Vienna ) was a nobleman and governor of Upper Austria .

Life

Johann or Hans von Haim was the son of Christoph II. Haimer (von Haim) zu Reichenstein and Apollonia Perner von Rauch-Schachen. From 1569 to 1576 Johann was councilor and regent in the regiment of the N.Ö. Lande , in 1578 he became Imperial Chamber Councilor and then under Rudolph II. Reichshofrat. From 1603 to the end of 1605 he was governor of Austria on the Enns . On March 25, 1575, Hans and his brothers and cousins ​​were accepted into the Upper Austrian knighthood, in that year he took over the Reichenstein rule for himself. Hans, Georg, Christoph and Stephan die Haym zum Reichenstein were raised to the imperial baron status with the entire descent of Emperor Rudolph II on January 8, 1582, and in the same year admitted to the Lower Austrian gentry.

With his first wife Margaretha Herrin von Schönkirchen († 1602) he had two children, with the second Maria Johanna Freiin von Hoyos zu Stüchsenstein two daughters. Johann died on April 19, 1616 and is buried in the Schottenkloster in Vienna.
