The Hantan is a river in South Korea . It flows through the provinces of Gangwon-do and Gyeonggi-do .
It is a left tributary of the Imjin , which flows into the Hangang , which in turn flows into the Yellow Sea . The Hantan is popular for white water rafting .
history
The Hantaan virus was first identified in the Hantan River area by Ho Wang Lee . His original publications, in which the river name was referred to as "Hantaan", led to the name Hantaan virus or the generic name Hantavirus.
