Hanuš Karlík (born March 23, 1850 in Rokitzan in Bohemia, † January 10, 1927 in Prague ) was a Bohemian industrialist.

Life

Hanuš Karlík studied technical chemistry at the Prague Polytechnic . From 1870 he worked in various Bohemian sugar factories. In Nimburg in 1886 he developed an improved cleaning process for beet juice through triple saturation and introduced osmosis in sugar production.

In 1876 he was involved in the establishment of the "Spolek pro průmysl cukrovarnický v Čechách" ("Association for the Sugar Industry in Bohemia") . In the years after the First World War , he was chairman of the Ústřední spolek čsl from 1919 to 1928 . průmyslu cukrovarnického v Praze "(" Central Association of the Czechoslovak Sugar Industry in Prague ") . He developed the Prague Research Institute for Sugar Production into a scientific research facility with world renown.

In addition to his professional activity, he was also active culturally, such as when the Technical Museum in Prague was founded. From 1920 to 1927 he was chairman of the National Economic Institute at the Czech Academy. He was awarded a doctorate degree by the Technical University for his services to the sugar industry.
