Happenbach (Abstatt)

Happenbach is a suburb of Abstatt in the Heilbronn district in northern Baden-Württemberg .

geography

Happenbach is two kilometers north of Abstatt and about one and a half kilometers east of the center of Untergruppenbach ; only the A 81 and its approach Heilbronn / Untergruppenbach separates the Happenbach from its settlement area . Coming from Untergruppenbach, the L 1111 runs from there as the main road through the village towards Unterheinriet in the east. From here, the K 2088 branches off, which leads through an industrial park on this side of the motorway to Abstatt in the south.

Happenbach is located in the transition area between the last wooded heights of the Löwensteiner Mountains in the north, which run out here in the Grafenwald only half a kilometer north of the village, and the hilly agricultural landscape of the eastern Neckar basin . It is located in the hollow of the Happenbach , which runs through the town from north to south.

history

Happenbach is historically connected to the Lords of Heinriet from Unterheinriet (today a part of Untergruppenbach), around 1500 it was partly owned by Löwenstein , partly by Württemberg and after 1806 entirely by Württemberg. Before 1806, the Württemberg part was already administered from Abstatt. After the entire place passed, Abstatt initially formed its own patrimonial office with Happenbach, Vohenlohe and Wildeck , but then Abstatt came to the Oberamt Besigheim in 1810 , Happenbach, however, to the Oberamt Heilbronn . Only after Abstatt had also come to the Heilbronn District Office, Happenbach was again connected to Abstatt as an independent sub-community from 1842 to April 1, 1934. In 1934 it was incorporated into Abstatt. The Happenbach grape variety of the same name is named after Happenbach .
