Harald Fischl

Harald Fischl (born April 2, 1958 in Söchau ) is an Austrian entrepreneur and politician ( FPÖ / BZÖ ). Fischl was a member of the Austrian National Council , president of the GAK football club and from 2006 to 2011 president of the Fürstenfeld Panthers basketball club .

education and profession

Fischl attended compulsory and vocational school and learned the profession of waiter before he did military service. He initially worked as an insurance consultant and insurance broker and owned several companies in the insurance sector. Fischl is also active in the real estate sector (construction and planning) and operates a number of retirement and senior citizens' homes.

Fischl is managing director of Harald Fischl Holding Gesellschaft mbH and owns 99.8% of the shares in this company. The holding company consists of a large number of old people's homes, nursing homes and care homes as well as various corporate investments. In January 2006, Fischl also bought the Wienerwald restaurant chain .

politics

Harald Fischl was district party chairman of the FPÖ Fürstenfeld and chairman of the Freedom Academy. He was also a member of the Ring of Freedom Economists (RFW) and deputy chairman of the Styrian Chamber of Commerce (Insurance Broker section). Fischl was a member of the National Council several times and represented the FPÖ there from 1990 to 1994, from 1995 to 1996 and from 1998 to 2001. In 2000 he was deputy chairman of the FPÖ parliamentary club. In the course of the split, Fischl moved from the FPÖ to the BZÖ. Fischl has been a local councilor in Fürstenfeld since 2001, a founding member of the BZÖ and has been the federal and Styrian state finance officer since 2005.

Activities as a sports official

Harald Fischl took over the presidency of the GAK in December 1991. At that time the GAK was in the relegation battle of the 2nd division, but thanks to financial support, Fischl managed to lead the GAK into the first soccer league. On October 22, 1998, Fischl resigned from the position of President for family reasons. After the GAK had to file for bankruptcy in 2007, the club received new statutes on August 2, 2007. The presidium was replaced by section heads, and Fischl took over one of the section head functions. During his term of office there was another bankruptcy petition and the official petition to close the association. As a result, a group of investors averted the closure, but insisted on Fischl's resignation. Fischl resigned from his position on February 2, 2008. Fischl is also honorary president of the GAK. Fischl has been president of the Panthers Fürstenfeld basketball club since 2006 .
