Harald Gärtner (born November 30, 1968 in Gießen ) is a former German soccer player and was Managing Director Sport and Communication at the second division club FC Ingolstadt 04 Fussball GmbH from 2007 to 2019 .
Career
societies
As an active player, Harald Gärtner played in the 2nd Bundesliga for Fortuna Düsseldorf , SV Meppen and Hannover 96 . In 2001, the midfielder and defender, who played for Eintracht Frankfurt as a youth , moved to Austria in the 1st Bundesliga to Admira Wacker Mödling . He then moved to the Regionalliga Süd for SSV Jahn Regensburg and at the end of his professional career at SV Darmstadt 98 .

After the end of his active career, Harald Gärtner initially worked as an assistant coach at FC St. Pauli and as sports director at Sportfreunde Siegen . At the beginning of the 2007/2008 season, he moved to FC Ingolstadt 04 eV as sports director , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga straight away. In November 2007, Gärtner took up the post of Managing Director for Sports, Communication, Marketing and Finance as part of the spin-off of the professional team and the youth performance teams he helped initiate into FC Ingolstadt 04 Fussball GmbH. At the same time, he founded FC Ingolstadt Stadionbetreiber GmbH in 2007. Since then he has been one of the two managing directors until today. In addition to being responsible for the sporting development of FC Ingolstadt 04, his main tasks also included restructuring the entire club. Associated with this was the development of the youth performance center, a scouting department, the Audi Schanzer football school (now the largest football school in Germany) and the new construction of the Audi Sportpark stadium, which opened in 2010 . Harald Gärtner has worked in the areas of sport and communication since then.
The "Schanzer" became champions in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2014/2015 season and finished their first season in eleventh place as promoted players in the Bundesliga.
Harald Gärtner's contract ran until June 30, 2020, but on March 28, 2019 the association and Gärtner separated by mutual agreement with immediate effect.
