Harald Kunstätter

Harald Kunstätter (born November 1, 1926 in Wolfsberg ; † April 13, 2003 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and federal civil servant. He was 1970-1971 member of the Bundesrat and 1971-1979 Member of the National Council .

Life

After primary and secondary school, Kunstätter attended secondary school in Sankt Paul im Lavanttal and Wolfsberg between 1940 and 1944 and studied history and geography at the University of Graz from 1946 to 1951 . He was then from 1952 to 1958 career counselor at the Villach and Wolfsberg employment offices and rose to head of the Wolfsberg employment office in 1958. Kunstätter held this position until 1970 and was then released or on leave until 1987. In 1982 he was appointed to the government council.

politics

Kunstätter started his political career in 1960 as a local councilor in Wolfsberg and in 1964 took over the office of Vice Mayor. From 1979 to 1989 he was mayor of Wolfsberg. He was also chairman of the socialist parliamentary group until 1979 and from 1971 district chairman of the SPÖ Wolfsberg. He also worked as a member of the SPÖ Carinthia's state party executive. Kunstätter represented the SPÖ between March 20, 1970 and November 2, 1971 in the Federal Council and was then a member of the National Council from November 4, 1971 to December 10, 1979.
