Harald Plachter

Harald Plachter (born May 26, 1950 in Nuremberg ) is a German biologist and professor of nature conservation biology at the Philipps University of Marburg .

Life

Harald Plachter is an animal ecologist and in 1978 became the head of species protection and nature conservation principles at the Bavarian State Office for Environmental Protection . He taught at the same time in Erlangen and Ulm. He is head of the Department of Conservation Biology at the Biological Faculty of the University of Marburg.

Plachter studied biology and chemistry in Erlangen-Nuremberg until 1976 . From 1976 to 78 he did his doctorate in zoology in Erlangen and then became head of the nature and species protection department of the Bavarian Environment Agency. At the same time he taught in Ulm and Erlangen. In 1987 he completed his habilitation in zoology at the University of Ulm . Since 1990 he has been professor for nature conservation at the University of Marburg.

He works for six months at the Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation at Hiroshima University .
