Harald Schultze

Harald Schultze (born December 16, 1934 in Jena ) is a German Protestant theologian and author.

Life

Schultze studied Protestant theology in Leipzig, Rostock and Jena. From 1963 to 1967 he was pastor in Neundorf . In 1964 he earned his doctorate in theology at the University of Jena with a study on Lessing's concept of tolerance . As a professor, he taught systematic and practical theology at the church universities in Naumburg (1967 to 1973) and in East Berlin (1986 to 1991). From 1991 to 1999 he headed the Evangelical Office in Magdeburg and was the representative of the Evangelical Churches in the state parliament and state government of Saxony-Anhalt. Since 1997 he has been an adjunct professor at the theological faculty of the Martin Luther University in Halle . He is a member of the EKD Commission for Contemporary Church History and lives in Magdeburg .
