Harald Seidel

Harald Seidel (born January 22, 1945 in Greiz ) is a founding member of the Social Democratic Party in the GDR and a former member of the Thuringian state parliament .

The trained gas and water plumber worked in a Greiz metal company until 1990.

politics

On October 7, 1989, Seidel founded the Social Democratic Party in the GDR (SDP) in Schwante (today part of Oberkrämer ) near Berlin with the main initiators Markus Meckel and Martin Gutzeit . After the SDP had merged with the SPD , Seidel became district chairman of the SPD district association Greiz.

In the first state parliament election in 1990 , Seidel was elected to the Thuringian state parliament, where he worked until 2004.

Since 1999 he has been a member of the Greizer district assembly.

Other offices

Harald Seidel is head of the project series “Prominent persons in conversation”, in which he has been interviewing ministers, actors and writers for several years, such as the Federal Environment Minister Barbara Hendricks (SPD) and the incumbent Landtag President Christian Carius (CDU).

From 1992 to 1999 he was a member of the Federal Media Commission of the SPD and a member of the assembly of the Thuringian State Media Authority.
