Harald Suislepp

Harald Suislepp (born June 11, 1921 in Kunda , Estonia , † September 21, 2000 ) was an Estonian writer and journalist .

life and work

Harald Suislepp took part in the Second World War in the Soviet Red Army .

From 1947, Suislepp embarked on a journalistic career. In 1955 he graduated from the party school of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Estonia (EKP). He then worked as a journalist for various newspapers.

In 1960 Suislepp was secretary in charge of the literary magazine Looming and from 1965 to 1967 secretary in charge of the culture magazine Sirp ja Vasara .

He also wrote numerous poems, epigrams , poems and verse dramas , as well as literary reviews and children's literature. A special, subtle sense of humor runs through Suislepp's entire literary work. From 1958 Suislepp was a member of the Estonian Writers' Union . His literary work is almost completely forgotten today.
