Harald Zepp

Harald Zepp (born July 22, 1955 in Cologne ) is a German geographer and professor for physical geography / applied physical geography at the Ruhr University in Bochum .

Life

He studied geography , soil science and geology at the universities of Heidelberg, Gießen and Bonn and graduated in 1982 with a diploma in geography from the University of Bonn. He then worked as a research assistant and did his doctorate there in 1986 on the topic: Water balance and relocation of water-soluble substances in loess blankets of the Main-Taunus foreland . He worked as an assistant at the Geographical Institute of the University of Bonn and received a Bennigsen Foerder Prize in 1991 for the planned research project Large-scale recording of geo-ecological process structures in agricultural landscapes by the Ministry of Science and Research of North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1992 he completed his habilitation at the University of Bonn on the subject: Classification and regionalization of soil moisture regime types , where he was appointed as a lecturer in the subject of geography. In 1994 he followed the call of full professor for physical geography / applied physical geography at the Ruhr University Bochum.
