Hardcore Superstar is a Swedish hard rock and sleazer rock band from Gothenburg . It was founded in 1997 and has had numerous hit singles in Sweden since then.
Band history
Shortly after it was founded in autumn 1997, she got her first record deal with Gain Records , which released the debut album "It's Only Rock'n'Roll", initially only on the Swedish market.
This debut opened the band's doors to the Music For Nations label , where they signed a contract for their international debut "Bad Sneakers and a Piña Colada" (the title comes from a song by Steely Dan , from their album "Katy Lied"). After the video for Liberation was nominated for a Swedish Grammis , the group embarked on their first European and Japan tour. In 2005, Hardcore Superstar released their album of the same name, Hardcore Superstar, and received a lot of media coverage. Worldwide tours followed.
In 2007 the next very successful album followed under the title "Dreaming in a Casket", which continued the band's success trend. Hardcore superstars were once again among the Grammis nominees. Among other things, the troupe then played support concerts for Motörhead . With their last two albums, the band ushered in a direction that few people would have thought possible after the album "No Regrets", which was regarded as mixed. The sound became considerably harder and the lyrics more straightforward.
In late January 2008, guitarist Thomas Silver left the band, but was replaced by Vic Zino. At the beginning of June 2009 Hardcore Superstar released their seventh studio album "Beg for it", this time under the German label Nuclear Blast . The previously released single of the same name achieved gold status in Sweden.
style
Although the musical group mainly plays sleazer rock, their style varies from album to album. They also published cover songs from classic hard rock bands such as The Who , Hanoi Rocks , Alice Cooper , INXS and The Troublemakers .
