Life

Upper studied with Hans Wagner at the University of Wuerzburg and was in Würzburg on 14 April 1965 at the Philosophy for Dr. phil. PhD . From 1963 he worked at the University of Bonn , first as Hans Wagner's assistant, then as an academic councilor and senior academic counselor. His focus was on the theory of concrete subjectivity, neo-Kantianism and the Kantian philosophy (in particular the philosophy of law). Oberer's thesis in the interpretation of Kant's moral philosophy is that the categorical imperative is not a principle of ethics in the narrower sense, but a basic principle of will and action in general, which is above the Kantian division of the " metaphysics of morals " into legal doctrine and virtue ( Ethics) and the principles of both are well founded.
