The hamlet of Harlanden

Harlanden is a district of the municipality of Oberdolling in the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt .

history

The hamlet dates back to the earliest settlement period of the Counts of Scheyern and the nearby monasteries. In 891 the East Franconian King Arnulf of Carinthia gave property to Megingoz, a vassal of Bishop Erchanbald von Eichstätt. A local nobleman de Harlant is mentioned in 1097; Until 1700 the farm name "Schloßhof" is kept in the hamlet (the castle has disappeared, the rest of the Harlanden castle stables are near the church). In 1204 the Scheyern Monastery received the ownership of the extinct Counts of Vohburg and from 1326 the benefices of "Harlanta", where they remained until the secularization in 1803. In 1450 the corridor was divided into two courtyards.

In ancient times, the hamlet, which was considered wealthy, belonged to the parish of Vohburg; the patronage rights lay with the Abbot von Scheyern. In 1621 Harlanden was parish off to Mindelstetten and parish off from Mindelstetten to Oberdolling in 1880. The village church of St. Michael was built in 1678.

In 1983 the hamlet with 22 inhabitants consisted of three full-time farms.
