Harris Lambrakis
Harris Lambrakis ( Greek Χάρης Λαμπράκης Charis Lambrakis , * 1976 in Athens ) is a Greek nay player .

Lambrakis, who initially received musical instruction from his father, the painter Giorgos Lambrakis, then attended the Pallini Music School. From 1994 to 2000 he studied musicology at the University of Athens . He studied Byzantine music with Marios Mavroidis and Iannis Arvanitis , jazz with Andreas Symvoulopoulos and composition with Iannis Ioannidis .
Lambrakis has been playing Nay since 1992. He performs with the instrument as an interpreter of traditional Greek music, contemporary compositions and as a jazz musician. He made recordings with Savina Yannatou , Haig Yazdjian , the group Occasional Dream , Christos Tsiamoulis , Ross Daly and Saz Grubu, among others . He is a member of the group Primavera en Salonico ( Anixi sti Saloniki ) and has been leading his own quartet since 2006, which moves between Greek music, modal music from the Eastern Mediterranean, jazz and improvised music. Since 2000 he has been teaching Nay at the National Conservatory and the Athens Conservatory .
