Harro Ohlenburg

Harro Ohlenburg (born September 11, 1942 ; † February 23, 2011 ) was a German sociologist and university professor.

Ohlenburg studied sociology at the Free University of Berlin from 1963 and worked there as a research assistant until 1975. From 1975 Ohlenburg worked at the Ostfriesland University of Applied Sciences and Oldenburg / Ostfriesland / Wilhelmshaven University of Applied Sciences , and from 1978 he was Professor of Industrial and Business Sociology. Harro Ohlenburg took over the role of Rector of the University of Applied Sciences from 1981–1985 and 1989–1995 . Since 2007, Ohlenburg has been working as an independent consultant for the Institute for Social and Health Sciences (GbR). His research areas included industrial and company sociology as well as organizational sociology . He retired in 2007.

Until 2011 he worked at Region Ostfriesland eV as a board member responsible for work, education and culture. There he supported the development of the first five multi-generational gardens in East Frisia as part of the “Garden for Everyone” project.
