Harry Hirsch (political scientist)

Harry Nathan Hirsch (* 1952 ) is an American professor of political science and comparative American studies ( Politics and Comparative American Studies ) at Oberlin College in Oberlin (Ohio) .

Career

In 1974 Hirsch graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Arts . In 1978 he earned a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Arts from Princeton University . In 1992 he taught political science at the University of California at San Diego. He has published several books and numerous articles on constitutional theory and practice, gay rights and policies, and the 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution . Hirsch teaches courses on constitutional law , gay and gender politics, and US political philosophy . From 2005 to 2006 he was the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
