Harry Metterhausen

Harry Metterhausen (born November 18, 1900 in Verden , † May 18, 1973 in Nienburg ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Metterhausen attended elementary school in Verden from 1906 to 1915. After finishing school he became a stone setter. Towards the end of the First World War , he was called up for military service in 1918. After his release, he worked in various road construction companies in Bremen , Oldenburg and Hanover . Since 1926 he worked as an independent road construction company in Nienburg / Weser. In 1933 Metterhausen was banned from all public works. After the end of the Second World War, he became a member of the district council and deputy district administrator in 1945. From 1964 he was district administrator of the Nienburg / Weser district . On May 6, 1955, Metterhausen entered the Lower Saxony state parliament one to which he belonged in his 3rd to 6th electoral term until June 20, 1970.
