Harry Wasylyk

Harry Wasylyk (* 5. December 1927 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin ; † 1. July 2013 ), together with Larry Hansen invented the garbage bag from polyethylene .

Originally, they did not envisage household use, but commercial use, and the first customer was Winnipeg General Hospital . Hansen's employer Union Carbide Company bought the idea from them and launched the first green garbage bags under the name Glad garbage bags in the late 1960s .
