Harry Winer

Harry Stuart Winer (born May 4, 1947 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American film director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

After receiving his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan , Harry Winer studied at the University of Southern California Film School , where he received his master's degree . This was followed by a scholarship from the American Film Institute , where he worked in the directing program on films such as Blood Trail of the Killer Ladies and The Day of the Grasshopper . He made his directorial debut in 1976 with the documentary The Legend of Bigfoot . This was followed by television films such as Space Camp , The Beaten Man and The Bible - Jeremiah , before founding his own production company Slash Media Films in 2001 .

Winer is married to actress Shelley Hack and has a daughter with her.
