Hartmann I of Dillingen
Hartmann I von Dillingen († April 16, 1121 in the Neresheim Monastery ) was Count of Dillingen and founded the Neresheim Monastery.
Life
Hartmann came from the Swabian family of the Counts of Dillingen , who were wealthy in the Danube region. He was the son of Hupold († 1074), Count of Dillingen. Through the marriage of Hartmann I von Dillingen to Adelheid von Winterthur-Kyburg , presumably a daughter of the last Winterthur Count Adalbert II , the Counts of Dillingen came to extensive possessions and territorial claims in Thurgau and were now also called Counts of Kyburg . A son of Hartmann was Ulrich I of Kyburg-Dillingen († 1127), Bishop of Konstanz . One daughter was Adelheid von Dillingen († December 1, 1141 as a nun in the Zwiefalten monastery ), who was married to Ulrich I. von Gammertingen († September 18, 1110), Count of Gammertingen .
The Neresheim monastery was founded in 1095 by Count Hartmann von Dillingen and his wife Adelheid at Neresheim Castle as an Augustinian canon monastery and converted into a Benedictine abbey in 1106, which joined the Hirsau reform . Before his death, Hartmann I entered the Neresheim monastery as a monk and died there in 1121.
