Hartmut Benckert (born March 16, 1946 in Husum ) is a German engineer.

He grew up in Bremen , attended grammar school and did his military service. He then studied mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering and space travel with a diploma. He obtained his doctorate at the Faculty of Energy Technology at the TU Stuttgart .

He then worked in turbine construction and energy and power plant technology for six years. He then moved to Putzmeister AG in April 1981 to take on tasks as assistant to the company's founder, Karl Schlecht . He was appointed test director and from 1988 he was responsible for the services, quality assurance and production departments.

In the 1980s and 1990s, he expanded the subsidiary in the USA. When the GmbH was converted into a stock corporation in 1996, he took on the position of a member of the board, whereby the contract stipulated that board members had to leave the company at the age of 60.

His work at Putzmeister AG resulted in groundbreaking innovations through support and stimulation in the field of construction machinery. In 1982 the development of the free flow hydraulics (FFH) was advanced. The handling system (HFH) was completed in 1986, which was characterized by a highly flexible and computer-aided operation.

This was followed by the development of the SKYWASH robots, which were controlled by sensors. These new technologies and devices formed the basis for a new generation of technology at Putzmeister, which resulted in the EBC master control and the development of Ergonic® modules that could be controlled by a joystick .

A technological world record from 1994, when for the first time concrete could be pumped to a height of 532 meters with a high-performance pump is associated with his activity. Another milestone in top performance was the start of series production in 2005 of truck-mounted concrete pumps that reach a reach of 63 meters.

At the end of June 2006 he left the company in accordance with his contract to look for a new field of activity in the field of business.
