Hartmut Goldschmidt

Hartmut Goldschmidt (born October 22, 1956 in Forst (Lausitz) ) is a German internist . The focus of his work is the optimization of diagnosis and therapy of multiple myeloma .

Life

Goldschmidt graduated from the Advanced High School in Forst (Lausitz) in 1975. In 1982 he completed his medical studies with his diploma thesis "The diagnosis and therapy of aplastic anemia" at the Humboldt University in Berlin and obtained his license to practice medicine . In 1984 he defended his doctorate there with his dissertation “On the Clinic of Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia” . After his recognition as an internist in 1988 and a further training authorization for hematology and internal oncology in 1992, Goldschmidt completed his habilitation in 1997 at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg on the subject of "Sequential high-dose therapy and transplantation of autologous peripheral blood progenitor cells in multiple myeloma" and at the same time received the license to teach internally Medicine. From 1999 to 2005 Goldschmidt was first senior physician in charge of the Medical Clinic and Polyclinic V of the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg. Since 2005 he has been head of the "Multiple Myeloma Section" at both the Heidelberg Medical Clinic and the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) there .

Goldschmidt is married and has two sons.
