Hartmut Holzwarth

Hartmut Holzwarth (born March 4, 1969 in Gaildorf ) is a German local politician ( CDU ).

Career

Holzwarth grew up in Weissach in the valley . From 1990 to 1993 he studied at the Kehl University of Applied Sciences and at the University of Hull and obtained degrees in public administration and a Master of Arts in Politics. He then worked at the Kehl University of Applied Sciences from 1993 to 1994 and from 1994 to 1998 in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science in Stuttgart in the international department and in the central office.

In 1998 he was elected mayor of Creglingen with 53.1 percent . In 2006 he was re-elected with 97.8 percent.

In 1999, 2004 and 2009 he was elected to the district assembly of the Main-Tauber-Kreis (CDU parliamentary group).

In 2009 Holzwarth applied for the office of Lord Mayor of the large district town of Winnenden . He won the election on January 31, 2010 with 72.9 percent of the votes in the first ballot and has been Lord Mayor there since April 1, 2010.

In the Mayor election in Winnenden on January 21, 2018, he applied as the only candidate and received 91.4 percent of the vote.

In the local elections in 2014 and 2019, he was elected to the district council of the Rems-Murr district (CDU parliamentary group).

He is chairman of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Winnenden GmbH, Fernwärme Winnenden GmbH & Co. KG, Gasnetz Winnenden GmbH and Stromnetz Winnenden GmbH. He is also a member of the supervisory board of the Rems-Murr-Kliniken gGmbH, chairman of the Winnenden local association of the German Red Cross and chairman of the North Württemberg regional council of the German War Graves Commission based in Stuttgart.

Holzwarth is married and has three children.
