Hartmut Winkler

Hartmut Winkler (born November 18, 1953 in Marburg ) is a German media scientist . Since 1999 he has been a professor for media theory and media culture at the University of Paderborn .

Life

Hartmut Winkler began studying architecture at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in 1972 , which he completed in 1975 with a diploma. After completing his civil service and working as an application consultant for urban planning at the Darmstadt municipal data center , Winkler pursued a second degree in German , philosophy, and theater , film and television studies at the Goethe University in Frankfurt from 1980 to 1987 . At the same time he worked at the Institute for Housing and Environment in Darmstadt. He completed his studies with the academic degree Magister in order to subsequently work as a research assistant at the University of Siegen and from 1991 to 1997 at the Goethe University.

1992 doctorate Winkler, the title of his dissertation is the cinematic space and the viewer . 1997 followed his habilitation with the topic Docuverse. On the media theory of computers .

After a temporary professorship in film and television studies at the Ruhr University Bochum , Winkler moved to the University of Paderborn in 1999, where he co-founded the diploma course in media studies .
