Hartselle is a city in Morgan County in the US state of Alabama . It has about 13,500 inhabitants (as of 2006).

Hartselle's geographical coordinates are 34 ° 26 ′ N , 86 ° 56 ′ W (34.440383, −86.940385). The place is about 15 km south of Decatur .
According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has an area of 38.5 km², of which only 0.07% is water.
Demographics
At the time of the United States Census 2000, Hartselle had 12,019 people. The population density was 312.3 people per km ². There were 5170 housing units at an average of 134.3 per km ².
