Hartwig from Ludwiger
Gottlob Hartwig Alfred Michael von Ludwiger (born June 29, 1895 in Beuthen OS ; † May 5, 1947 in Belgrade ) was a German officer , most recently Lieutenant General in World War II .
Life
Ludwiger served as an officer in the First World War . After the war he switched to the Reichswehr and worked as a commander in various units. He also served in the Wehrmacht during World War II, including as commander of the 704th Infantry Division and the 104th Jäger Division . In the last days of the war of 1945 Ludwiger was with the leadership of the XXI. Mountain Army Corps commissioned and ended up in Soviet captivity at the end of the war .
Hartwig von Ludwiger was extradited to Yugoslavia after the end of the war . There he was charged, sentenced to death and executed .
