Hasan Tehrani Moghaddam ( Persian حسن تهرانی مقدم) (Born October 29, 1959 in Tehran ; died November 12, 2011 near Malard, Tehran Province ) was an Iranian brigadier general in the air force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and developed the Iranian missile project.

Moghaddam is a graduate of the elite Tehran KN Toosi University of Technology in 1981, specializing in mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering . He participated in the Iranian Revolution since 1979 and became a commander of the Guardians of the Revolutionary Guards who took part in the Iranian-Iraqi War . So he built up the artillery and missile troops for the Revolutionary Guard. 1986-87 he built this up in Lebanon for Hezbollah .

He obtained the missile construction expertise and blueprints from North Korea to support the development of Iranian missile technology, and founded Iran's long-range missile program . He developed the Shahab , Ghadr and Sejjil missiles with a range of more than 1,000–2,000 kilometers to reach Israel . For these reasons he is seen as the "father of the Iranian missile program". He also worked on nuclear warhead portability. On November 12, 2011, he was apparently killed in an accident by an explosion at the Bidganeh military base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard in western Tehran. The Iranian religious leader Ali Khamenei was present at his funeral . Posthumously, Moghaddam was promoted to major general.

According to the daughter, his motive was based on North Korea's example for Iran. The country had been tamed by the USA until it became a nuclear power. "After that, the USA couldn't do anything against North Korea," her father always said. (Welt, January 24, 2019) There is some evidence of secret ICBM development, which could also reach the US, at the Schahrud facility .
