Hasim Sancar

Hasim Sancar (born January 11, 1960 ; resident in Auswil ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ).

Life

Hasim Sancar grew up in a Kurdish village in Turkey . From the age of seven he attended school in Istanbul and in 1981 graduated from the Ecole Supérieure des Langues Etrangères at the Marmara University . Sancar left Turkey in 1982 due to the military coup in 1980 and came to Switzerland.

From 1986 to 1988 Hasim Sancar studied economics at the University of Neuchâtel and from 1990 to 1991 took part in a research project at the Institute for Ethnology at the University of Bern on the therapy of the effects of torture. In Köniz he then headed the transit center for asylum seekers Dreispitz from 1991 to 1995. From 1991 to 1996 Sancar trained as a qualified social worker at the Higher Technical School for Social Work HFS in Bern (today BFH ) and from 1997 to 1999 he trained in systemic therapy and counseling at the Miles Training Institute. From 1995 to 2010 Hasim Sancar headed the social counseling in the outpatient clinic for torture and war victims of the Swiss Red Cross SRK in Bern and since 2010 Sancar has been head of the Pro Infirmis counseling center in Bern. Hasim Sancar is married and has two children. He lives in Bern.

Hasim Sancar was a member of the city ​​council (legislature) of Bern from 2005 to 2012 . During both legislatures he was a member of the Supervisory Commission, which he also chaired in 2011. In 2013, Sancar slipped into the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern for the resigning Corinne Schärer and therefore renounced the newly won mandate in the city council. Hasim Sancar has been a member of the Audit Committee of the Grand Council since 2014.

From 2004 to 2014 Sancar was a board member of the Swiss Green Party. He is a delegate of the trade union federation of the city of Bern and the surrounding area and of the Swiss Association of Public Service Personnel VPOD . Sancar is a board member of the Conference for the Disabled of the City and Region of Bern BRB and the Förderverein Reitschule Bern .
